Hi, I’m John, and I am a portrait photographer.
My love of photography is second only to the amazing journey it’s taken me on, and the people I’ve met along the way. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and everything in between.
Though I’m still only 25, I’ve spent the best part of the last 10 years behind a camera,working as a full time professional portrait photographer since 2006. I’ve worked in various studios, honing my skills and practicing my art. The work you see here is some of my personal work from that time.
Now, in late 2009, I venture out in to the world under my own banner, with a passion in my heart, and a fire in my belly. |

For my professional work I use some of the very latest Nikon SLR’s, and at all other times, one of my ever expanding collection of vintage cameras is never far away. This wonderful mix of old and new disciplines has taught me the fundamental principles of photography, meaning I never have to rely on modern technology to work out the best shot for me. The confidence this brings means my photography is relaxed and fun.
I intend to capture life as it unfolds, for these moment will never happen again. I hope that in the years to come, you will enjoy looking back at your photographs and still cherish them as much as I cherish my own.

Besides photography, I have a great love of classic cars that break down too often, dogs that misbehave too often, guitars I don’t play often enough, and books I wish I had more time to read. I set out each day to learn something, or create something, or in some other way, make progress. I don’t exercise as much as I’d like, I eat more than I should, and I like my tea strong with a small sugar.
